If We Experienced Life Through The Eyes Of A Child
Everything Would Be Magical And Extraordinary.
I have always loved watching the excitement on little children’s faces when they see something new for the first time , even more so now that I have children of my own.
Since having my little boy I have spent more time standing in the park looking at dogs , stones , water and deer than I ever had before . There is a fleeting moment when it is cold and windy I think lets just go home and have a coffee but then a small hand tugs at mine and points manically at a passing dog and suddenly all thoughts of home and coffee are gone. There is nothing like looking into two sparkling eyes and seeing the excitement at all the things we as adults take for granted.
Yesterday we took our two smallies to see Santa . This was a visit I will never forget for all the right reasons ! From the moment we met the first Elf to the stroll through Willy Wonkas fantasy land Noah had the biggest grin and ran excitedly from one thing to another , and as I looked around at all the tired , stressed parents I wondered when did we lose our sparkle and sense of childish excitement ? When did rushing from A to Z become the norm ? How did our curiosity dim ? Maybe the stress of juggling work and family time means we have less time to stop and appreciate the here and now .
I think in order to de stress and make the most of the short time we have in life we should take a leaf out of our children’s book . Stop and look at the coloured leaves on the ground , jump in puddles and dance in the street ! What is the worst that could happen ?!
