On a cold dark night feed back in January I perused the web looking for some affordable getaways that could accommodate the growing brood and I remembered Corrina from stone travel had mentioned a really afffordable stay in Wexford that she had found and used on escapes.ie . I  paid €199 for three nights and €100 refundable breakages deposit ( This was paid the day before we arrived and refunded the day after we left ) . The drive to the site is stunning , every where you look there are castles , abbeys and beautiful sea views which really help to build up the excitement of your trip . The site itself is on the cliff and the views are spectacular , there are 67 holiday homes and as it was the Easter holidays when we took our break it was quite busy but still very tranquil and we felt the kids were safe enough ( Once you watch for cars coming in and out ) . I was very unsure of what to expect but our first impressions were good , we were pleasantly surprised by the size if the house and the rooms ( all ensuite ) however , we did feel that the houses in general were a bit dated and needed some TLC ( Painting etc ) and that they could really have some added decor like some wall art but as I had said in my Insta stories , it served as a base for our trip and had the basics that we needed , If we were to come again I would bring sleeping bags for the kids as the duvets were a little worse for wear !  There are two playgrounds on site and the kids absolutely loved that they could run out their front door and hop on the swings and climbing wall , it really helped to burn off their energy after the car journey , like seriously , they were like hares out of the traps !! We had to nearly bribe them to come in for dinner and Noah declared it was the best place ever !

Hook Head is the most beautiful part of the country , every where we turned there were ruins , beaches , sea views – The house definitely served as a pretty good base for us , we even made it to Kilkenny and back in an about an hour and 20 minutes each way ! We would more than likely return as the deal we got was pretty good , was it the most amazing accommodation that we stayed in ? No , but it served a purpose and comfortably fit all of us and all the baggage that comes with 4 under 5 , with room to spare , which to be honest is no mean feat !

Places to see :
 1. Hook head Lighthouse ( Children under 5 are free )
2. Loftus Hall ( Was closed when we were there )
3. Duncannon Beach ( So beautiful )
4.Dunbrody Famine Ship
Have you stayed here ?
